Byron Bay Cycle Club

Our Vision:

To Actively lead, develop and promote a healthy, inclusive and enjoyable cycling/triathlon culture in the Northern Rivers region.

Our Mission:

To provide opportunities and support for recreational and race cycling/triathlon for people of all ages and abilities in Byron Bay and surrounding areas.

Join us

We welcome all locals and visitors to join our rides and when you become a regular rider with us we hope you'll support our club by becoming a member. We have membership options for social riders and for racing.

As safety comes first, we hope you to read our safety instructions when you are planning to join the rides.

ALL 37 of us ( read that again ) started in the wee hours on our regular Saturday Social ride with nearly as many returning to the Bay Grocer for coffee & a good old chat . That’s the Social part : )

Both groups had fantastic rides today with more newcomers , fantastic leads by our road captains & encouraging sweeps taking the rear .

6 am Bay Grocer Browning St side for rider brief.

The 25s ( previously B group ) will take a shorter route with 2 experienced ride captains & a sweep.

The 30+s ( previously the A group ) will take a longer route 70 km ish with a bit of sweet hinterland elevation.

Cyclocross mad club member Martin and his son George headed to Belgium to this week for the final 3 races of theChristmas period of intense CX racing. They watched Koksijde, Gullegem and the mud bath of Dendermonde.

2025 Byron Bay Cycle Club rolled out for its first Saturday Social ride and it was a cracker .

2 groups
2 speeds
25 riders
1 great coffee stop that lingered & lingered .

Truly a social gathering after the ride where both groups came together @baygrocer .

Next week we ll do the same
& the week after & the one after that.

Every Saturday 6 am rolling out from @baygrocer Browning St .

Rolling back there too for the long coffee & breakfast .

All welcome .

MAAP kit out numbered Rapha today - of all days ! RAPHA 500 started today and a few members headed out for a very sweet hinterland loop.
500 - 75 =425 km to go .

BOXING DAY RIDE is in the making ….. 120 km - route tbd

Lismore cycling festival, what to expect

ANY BIKE, ANY SKILL, ANY AGE WELCOME.
Come and try CYCLOCROSS! This coming weekend (5-6 October) at the Lismore Cycling Festival.
We will have a full cyclocross course setup for you to enjoy, Saturday and Sunday from 10am till 1pm.

What is Cyclocross?
Cyclocross is a discipline that is raced mainly on grass on a short technical course and will see the rider underbiked and will push the riders fitness and technical skills to the limit.
It will engage the rider with the course for maximum effort over a short period of time.
A sport where the riders will race against each other but more importantly the riders will be racing against the course.

An AusCycling program will be running Cavanbah Centre Byron Bay, between October and December every Wednesday, for a total of 6 sessions.

AusBike gives kids the essential skills to experience the freedom, fun and adventure of life on a bike.
AusBikers are safe & active kids!
Our accredited coaches will help build your child’s competence and confidence on two wheels...and who knows where their love of riding will take them?!
